When I created this piece I wished it to be a personal exploration of textures and contrasts. I built up layers of washy inks over areas of modelling paste and manipulated them using various tools, such as brushes, sponges, and palette knives, to achieve the intricate details. The entire process was intuitive, driven by a sense of discovery and a deep connection I felt to the organic forms and colours of the natural world.
