This painting has bright parts and dark, soft areas and heavily textured ones. Some transitions are smooth and subtle, others are bold and abrupt. There’s a delicate, almost transparent form at the center—yet it feels solid. It started off as something much more quiet and mysterious—soft tones, a minimal shape, something you could almost miss. But as I kept coming back to it over months, it shifted. The colors got louder. Edges became clearer. That subtle shimmer turned into something closer to a spotlight. At one point I even thought it was getting too polished or too cartoonish—but then I realized that contrast was part of the point. Sometimes we’re not just one thing. We’re not just light or dark, delicate or resilient. We’re a mix of contradictions that somehow hold together. That’s what this painting became about. A moment of tension that doesn’t break. A form that looks like it could vanish, but doesn’t. Still here. Still holding.
